ALL ABOUT US

GRAY ROAD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

The purpose of Gray Road Christian School is summarized in our mission statement, Growing Strong Minds and Committed Hearts. We strive to build on the God given talents, creativity and gifts of each child.

Since 1984 our school has been providing a comprehensive, Christ centered education for children.   Our students benefit from a strong academic program that is grounded in Biblical truth and taught in a loving and nurturing environment.

We offer affordable, quality Christian education in an inter-denominational setting. Gray Road Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.  We are a ministry of Gray Road Baptist Church, but your child does not have to be affiliated with our church to attend the school.

Academics and Programs

We place great value on each individual, and we strive to cater to different learning styles. You will appreciate the student/teacher ratio at each grade level. In addition, our classrooms provide opportunities for work in small groups and one-on-one instruction.

Our students are tested annually to provide a benchmark of our academic progress. The scores recorded by our students are typically well above the state average for each grade level. Our curriculum is routinely evaluated to ensure that the best possible materials are being used.

Along with traditional academics, our students benefit from our music program, physical education, Spanish instruction, drama and art. Weekly chapel times challenge students to live the things they have learned. Our field trips and special events add excitement and anticipation to each school year.

God has blessed us with an incredible staff, each with a heart that truly desires to serve God in this ministry. You will recognize this calling in their commitment and passion for teaching the children.

Our desire is to partner with you in educating your child. We welcome parental involvement in the classroom and during our special events. You will find that our teachers are great…and our students are terrific!

Listed below is a schedule for the different programs that we offer. We hope that you find this information helpful. Beyond that, we hope that you will find it intriguing, and that it will prompt you to come visit us! Please contact us to request additional information or to arrange a visit.

EXTENDED CARE

POLICIES and PROCEDURES

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

Before School Care begins at 7:00 a.m.  Children should be dropped off at the double glass doors in the gym.  All Before School Care will take place in the gym.  Children who arrive between 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. are charged according to the fee schedule below.  All children will be dismissed to their classrooms at 8:00 a.m.  Anyone arriving prior to this time will need to go to the Before School Care rather than to his or her classrooms.

7:00-8:00 a.m.  $2.50  Per Day / Per Child

AFTER SCHOOL CARE

After School Care begins at the conclusion on the school day.  Children not picked up by 3:25 p.m. will be directed to their After School Care location.  Because of the large number of children, the following will be the typical procedure:

•Between the hours of 3:30 and 5:00 the Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 students will remain down in the Pre-K wing.  A supervisor and assistant(s) will be in the Pre-K Wing during that portion of the After Care time.
•The K thru 6th Grade students are in the gym area from 3:30-6:00.
There will be instances when we will have special "movie days" in the Fellowship Hall and children will be picked up there.  The receptionist on duty will direct you on those days.

In good weather the children may be outside on the playground.

The charge for After School Care begins at 3:25 and continues until the child is picked up according to the fee schedule below.  All children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m.

Children are under the authortiy of the After School Care Supervisors while in the program.  The expectations will be made clear and the children will be expected to follow the established guidelines.

The adult picking up the child must sign them out of the After School Supervisor's care.  We will not allow the child to leave with anyone not on our "Pick-Up" List!
