Pastor Toby and Family
About Our Pastor
Toby Johnson was born in 1975 in Cookeville, Tennessee, and was raised in Knoxville. He graduated from the University of Memphis in 1997 and from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY in 2003. Toby served in various pastoral ministry roles in Tennessee, Florida, and Indiana before coming to Gray Road in October 2009.
Susan was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and she is described by her husband as “an incredible” wife, mother, homemaker and freelance photographer. In 1997, she and Toby met in Nashville, Tennessee, on a riverboat called the General Jackson. They were married just ten months later.
Toby and Susan have five children: Caleb is 11, Austin is 9, Emilie Grace is 7, Georgia is 6, and Joshua is 1.
